About the Role

The Company is seeking a visionary and collaborative leader to serve as the Chair of the Nuclear Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the department to a higher level of excellence, with a focus on strengthening its leadership in research and education. This role involves overseeing all academic and administrative activities, managing the department's operations and budget, and working with the Dean to encourage philanthropic engagement. The Chair will be expected to lead and unify the department around a cohesive vision, champion student success, and prioritize enrollment. Additionally, the role includes developing and expanding partnerships, growing research and innovation, and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Applicants for the Chair position must have a doctorate in nuclear engineering or a related field, with a strong record of scholarly achievement. A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as prior administrative experience and a track record of impactful research and teaching, are preferred. The ideal candidate will be a transparent, collegial leader with the ability to inspire and mentor faculty, staff, and students. They should be adept at fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and have a passion for forging new opportunities for industry partnerships and philanthropic support. The Chair will also be responsible for aligning and managing resources to support the department's goals and priorities.
